File Preparation Guide

A print-ready file means your job is produced quickly and without issues.

Size and bleed

Prepare your file at the chosen trim size and add 3 mm bleed on every edge.

Keep text and key elements at least 5 mm inside the trim so they are not affected by cutting.

Resolution and colour

Use images of at least 300 dpi at print size.

Prepare files in CMYK; use single-colour black (K 100%) for black text.

Fonts and PDF

Embed all fonts in the PDF or convert them to outlines.

Export to PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 where possible; do not upload password-protected PDFs.

Book cover and spine

Prepare the cover as one spread: back cover + spine + front cover.

Spine width depends on page count and paper; our team verifies your cover size during the pre-flight check.

Page count

The page count of your interior file must match the page count in your order.

Saddle-stitched jobs need a page count that is a multiple of 4.
